Back in the year 1921, around the Yucatan peninsula, Armando Villarreal Lozano gave birth to a musical genre that would transcend time and become iconic for Mexico and its musical culture. Inspired from the late 19th century Cuban-composer Pepe Sanchez and his classical use of guitars and percussions, Lozano was the pioneer of a genre who paved the way for world renowned artists such as Javier Solis, Rocio Durcal, Luis Miguel, among others who have used this genre to modernize and expand its influence amongst contemporary audiences.
Boleros are often romanticized with themes of bittersweet, unrequited, betrayed, or eternal love. Which makes them stand out amongst all groups and ages around.
